Commonly Asked Questions
Q. Do your cakes taste as good as they look?
A. Absolutely! We’ve been told we’ve got the most moist, delicious cakes around, and in fact I’ve had more than one person eat my cake that say they never like cake before and loved it, because it is so moist.
Q. Which cake flavors are the most popular?
A. Our most popular flavor has always been our vanilla white wedding cake. Also popular is our carrot cake, decadent chocolate cake and our old fashioned spud’n spice cake.
Q. Why is your fondant better?
A. Our fondant is better because we take the time and effort to make ours from scratch. It never has a gummy taste but instead, just melts in your mouth. We use a thin layer of fondant but first always ice our cakes with our wonderful buttercream.
Q. How soon do I need to order my cake?
A. We usually book approximately 6 to 8 months before your wedding date, but keep in mind that June through October are our busiest times and may book sooner. When ordering a wedding cake or large tiered cake, a deposit equal to one-half the cost of your cake is required to book your date. The balance is due 2 weeks prior to your wedding date. For regular birthday and other occasion cakes, payment in full is due in order to book your date.
Q. Can you copy a design from a picture in a magazine or online?
A. That is our specialty! We love to try new things and a lot of the time, our customers like our reproduction better than the original.
Q. How do I know how much my cake will cost and how much should I spend on a wedding cake.
A. Prices are determined by how much time and labor are spent on the cake as well as the type of cake and number of portions needed. Pricing starts with a base price and will increase depending on upgrades chosen.
Q. Who delivers and set up my wedding cake?
A. I personally deliver and set up all of my wedding cakes. The main reason I do this is that I want complete control over how the final product looks when it is displayed at your reception site. I typically deliver hours before your reception begins to insure everything is in place in plenty of time to relieve stress on the catering manager, wedding consultant and bridal family.
Q. How many cakes do you do on a given day?
A. As I am a one-person operation, I limit the number of cakes I do on a given day. Typically, I do one to two wedding cakes and that all depends on the size, intricacy and delivery locale.
